The MEGGLE dairy continues to offer training opportunities to its milk producers; in November, almost 300 farmers accepted the invitation to get further training under their belts, this time on the subject of communication. 

The seminar that the MEGGLE dairy offered to its milk producers in November 2019 was called "Communication and success strategies for professionals – long-overlooked subjects in the world of agriculture". The speaker was Elke Pelz-Thaller, who describes herself as being a "farmer in spirit" and who lives on a farm in the Hallertau region of Bavaria.

Ms Pelz-Thaller has personal experience of "farmers and communication" and it was a subject that the farmers' working group had yet to focus on. She used various models and images to show the farmers how they could improve their communication skills, while also presenting problem-solving tools they could use to overcome the range of challenges facing them today with energy and enthusiasm. "For me, it was particularly important for the training to convey a sense of one's own demeanour and how that comes across to others," since this will be reflected back on oneself, according to Ms Pelz-Thaller.

Dr Julia Woodrow, consultant to milk producers at the MEGGLE dairy, attended the series of training sessions, which received very positive feedback from the farmers on the whole.

In 2017, the Wasserburg-based company ramped up its dialogue with farmers by establishing the "Working Group on Ethical Animal Husbandry", which has since provided a platform for discussions on the latest issues. This collaboration also led to a survey of MEGGLE farmers. Since then, MEGGLE has offered its milk producers further training sessions in homeopathy and sent experts in husbandry out to the farms themselves.
