Sustainability is a major part of MEGGLE’s strategy since years. As the first representative of the German milk sector the dairy from Wasserburg signed a Green Schuldschein. The amount made available to MEGGLE will be used for already implemented investments in the production.

The loans that are backed by a number of investors have a multi-year term. It is compulsory that the amount provided by a Green Schuldschein is used to achieve sustainable environmental, social or governance targets.

All projects were under review by Vigeo Eiris, an international rating agency. The very demanding procedure checked whether MEGGLE’s plans fulfilled the claims of the “Green Bond Principles”, a norm of the International Capital Market Association (ICMA) for sustainability management.
