The realignment of MEGGLE continues to take shape. Subject to the approval of the cartel authorities, MEGGLE Group will take over 100 percent of the bakery M-Back GmbH in Gebesee (Thuringia).

"With the complete acquisition of M-Back we are continuing our strategic realignment and strengthening our bakery products in the long term. MEGGLE is the leading supplier of filled, chilled baguettes. Thanks to optimal product range management, innovative new products and thanks to our quality leadership, we have been able to achieve above-average growth in this segment compared to the market. By taking over all M-Back shares we will consistently promote this excellent development", explains Matthias Oettel, Chairman of the MEGGLE Management Board.

M-Back was founded in 2009 by the entrepreneurs Toni Meggle and Karlheinz Bindewald at the Gebesee location and has since then been managed in partnership and further developed in a targeted manner. MEGGLE most recently held almost 67 percent of the shares and was thus the main shareholder. The takeover of all company shares is planned for the end of the first quarter of 2020. In this context, M-Back will assign the shares of the EDEKA baking company Panem.
