After over 20 years of successful business growth achieved in a great spirit of partnership, strategic considerations now mean MEGGLE is to transfer its shares in SalzburgMilch to Salzburg owners' cooperatives. This step will see Austria's third-largest dairy return to full ownership by dairy farmers.

"When MEGGLE acquired its stake in SalzburgMilch in 1999, it was our first shareholding outside Germany and very close to our proprietor Toni Meggle's heart, since he has strong ties to Salzburg. The company's strategic realignment and renewed focus on our key competencies and key markets mean we have decided to transfer our shares to our long-standing partners in accordance with our contract," says Matthias Oettel, Board Member for Consumer Products, to explain the move.

"We are grateful for the great collaboration of the last 20 years, which has been very successful. This partnership between cooperatives and a private dairy company, which was one of a kind in Austria, achieved wonderful things for the Salzburg dairy industry. It is one of the reasons why SalzburgMilch has been growing better than any other Austrian dairy for over ten years now. In future, the farming owners will continue to pursue this path to success on behalf of our 350 employees and 2600 milk suppliers," says Robert Leitner, Chairman of the SalzburgMilch supervisory board, with confidence.
