The Young Enterprise Award

The MEGGLE Young Enterprise Award has become a notable prize-giving. 21 entrepreneurs from the region were worthy winners. Also the winning team from 2018: pixx.io!

October 2018 saw Richard Michel, Christoph Trautbeck and Andreas Gölkel come out on top at the seventh MEGGLE Young Enterprise Award prize-giving ceremony. The three founders of pixx.io were rewarded for the courage they had shown in turning their idea into a business model. The entrepreneurs had a vision of enabling people to organise and manage their media and image assets as efficiently as possible. With pixx.io, an ever-increasing pool of image and media files becomes quick and easy to browse, allowing members of marketing teams in particular – whether working for a regional tourist board or a medium-sized industrial company – to save a great deal of time. If huge numbers of images are involved, then pixx.io is an enormous help.

"A platform on which to be seen"

The Young Enterprise Award judging panel was impressed by how this idea was put into practice and by its future prospects for success. The reward for the team from pixx.io? Prizemoney of 25,000 euros and a great deal of attention. "The MEGGLE Young Enterprise Award is a wonderful platform on which to be seen throughout the region," confirmed Richard Michel, CEO and co-founder of pixx.io.

The businessmen used their prizemoney to renovate the recreation room; the firm's employees also benefited from more workshops and further training opportunities. What's more, after winning the Award, the company was able to forge ahead with its plans to open a prestigious new pixx.io office, which will reunite what are currently two separate pixx.io sites and provide space for future expansion. The "ioPark" construction project, involving a Mühldorf engineering firm, has been given the green light and will create new, innovative office space near Mühldorf train station, with plans to develop it into a campus in future. "The ioPark allows us to give something back to the region. By sharing our knowledge with others by hosting events, for example, or creating co-working spaces where people can work together, we want to encourage and inspire other start-ups," explained the pixx.io CEO.

A worthwhile application process

Toni Meggle has been able to give a little back to the region with the MEGGLE Young Enterprise Award too; since it made its debut in 2012, a total of 350,000 euros have been handed over to fearless founders from the region. The application process for the eighth incarnation of the Young Enterprise Award has just got underway in recent days. Last year's winners from pixx.io even found this phase "really worthwhile, because we spent a lot of time thinking about important fundamental ideas, together with our employees. During this rather intense process, we committed our goals, values and vision to paper," said Richard Michel.

The effort was worth it – in lots of ways. Because after it won the Young Enterprise Award, the MEGGLE dairy itself went into collaboration with pixx.io. In future, all of the Wasserburg dairy's image files and media assets will be organised via pixx.io – across all locations and specialist sectors! So an idea from this region will make its way around the entire world.
